Description of unit:

Orion is a globally operating Finnish company developing pharmaceuticals and diagnostic tests – a builder of well-being. Orion develops, manufactures and markets human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients and diagnostic tests. The company is continuously developing new drugs and treatment methods. The core therapy areas of Orion’s pharmaceutical R&D are central nervous system (CNS) disorders, oncology and respiratory for which Orion developes inhaled Easyhaler® pulmonary drugs.

Orion’s net sales in 2014 amounted to EUR 1,015 million and the Company had about 3,500 employees. Orion’s A and B shares are listed on NASDAQ Helsinki.

Global Sales is in charge of selling Orion’s human pharmaceuticals globally. We are a bit over 700 in more than 20 countries in Europe, outside Europe we operate through partners. Of the own sales organizations, Finland is the biggest followed by Germany, Russia and Poland. We are organized into Regions, which we have currently seven, Region Eastern Europe EU is one of them.

Description of position:

Your main task is to provide strategic, analytical and financial decision-making support. You will act as a key member of the EE Management Team and will drive the analytic, assessment, diligence and implementation activities to develop commercial opportunities in the region.

Your major accountabilities are:

- identify and implement business strategies, evaluate and resolute potential risks and challenges
- provide strategic insights, financial analysis and various business inputs into key strategic decisions and opportunities for business development
- conduct market research in order to identify, analyze and evaluate business opportunities and potential markets in new products and market segments, strategic alliances and acquisitions providing feasible opportunities for the company growth
- drive activities of new business opportunities and go-ordinate diligence activities
- manage multiple projects and co-ordinate the analysis of these opportunities simultaneously through several stages of financial and technical due diligence with appropriate experts from the functional areas of Orion Corporation
- provide benefit/risk scenario analysis of development opportunities for the senior management of Orion Corporation
- assess current and future competitors in relevant therapeutic and disease areas in order to provide analysis on competitor strategies
- identify acquisition/partner targets; select, initiate, develop and maintain effective partnerships globally with third party partner companies by developing a broad professional network
- attend international industry meetings, trade shows and events

Requirements:

Essential skills, knowledge, experience and personal characteristics are:
- university degree
- 7+ years industry experience
- strong skills at presenting findings and recommendations to senior management
- ability to challenge business case input, to develop business cases and financial models and to assess value and risks
- ability to take strategic company perspective, delivery decision-ready presentations
- excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with internal and external partners and to manage relations
- strong negotiation and presentation skills, ability to influence others
- fluent written and spoken English
